Enjoying France At Home

For Americans, travel in France is prohibited these days. And recently the government in the UK has told its citizens that if they vacation in France, they must quarantine for 14 days on return. At least they are allowed into France.

Synthia, one of our American Chic & Slim readers, whose September trip to France has now been put on hold, recently emailed with a suggestion for those who want to enjoy France while remaining at home: Synthia wrote:

This has not been a good travel year but thank goodness for travel shows and Netflix!

A friend recommended a French series called The Bureau. It’s on Hulu or Sundance Channel. It’s about the French Intelligence Agency. It’s brilliant! It’s well acted, well written and you can really observe how the French behave, dress and even eat.

The CIA is also in the series. They are portrayed as brash, arrogant and overweight. Well, one man is overweight AND heavy southern accent. That made me laugh. How they perceive Americans in 2018!

The series is touted as: A stylish spy saga based upon real accounts by former spies and contemporary events. Wikipedia says: The second season has been universally acclaimed, and has even been considered by some as the best television ever produced in France. The third and fourth seasons have met with further acclaim, with praise for the show's acting, pacing, plot and realism.
